PEACE OF MIND - amazing resilience, utility, dependability, and customer service!!!

I ended up buying two of these devices, and I can't tell you how much I love them!
I bought one for my brother-in-law with early dementia.
I bought the other for a new dog we adopted.
The one for my brother in law makes allows us to check on him when he leaves the house, so we can make sure he's okay. It gives the whole family great peace of mind to know where he is. It has the SOS button that he can push to contact us, also (he likes that it doesn't call the police, EMS, or anyone outside of the family!)

The one for my new dog has been AMAZINGLY helpful. He lived across the street, but, was really a "neighborhood dog", constantly roaming the streets. His previous owners decided they didn't want to keep him, and offered him to us. He's a great boy, but, it's been a challenge keeping him in a partially unfenced yard and teaching him boundaries. The trackimo app has been a lifesaver! We can let him outside and "watch" him on the app! If he starts to go where he shouldn't, we call him - and remind him where the boundaries are! If he chases a rabbit and goes down the street - we can find him instantly! It's amazing peace of mind as we finish fencing our yard!

By the way, when we first put trackimo on him, I had it too low (on a harness) and he chewed it. He's a German Shepherd / Akita mix, and, I thought he certaintly destroyed it (it's significantly/visually chewed/indented!) But, it still worked like a charm! Then, I attached it higher, but with a cheap "throw away" wire keychain - He started playing with another neighborhood dog, and it came off. We didn't notice until we left the house (and brought him with us - we noticed Trackimo was missing when the app said he was still at home!) We had a huge thunderstorm before we got home, and I hoped and hoped that it was facing in a direction that the rubber, water-resistant cover would protect it. When I got home and found it, it was facing upside down, where water could pool up in the unit. I was SURE it would be destroyed! But, nope! It still works perfectly!!! These suckers are built to last!

One more thing - During all the wear and tear playing with the neighborhood dog, the cover has gotten chewed up a bit, and loose, and keeps coming off. I contacted Trackimo, and they're putting a couple new covers in the mail, AT NO CHARGE!!! They responded IMMEDIATELY and were SO NICE to deal with!

I researched MANY of these devices before deciding to try Trackimo, and I am SO GLAD I did!!!! Buy the way, I almost got scared-off by the limited text messages. However, if you have a smart phone, you get unlimited messages from the app, at no charge at all. Oh, one MORE thing - It's incredibly easy to track two dogs at once (or, a dog and family member, or, whatever.) They're both on the app at the same time, and you can push a button to focus on one or the other.

There is just everything GOOD about this device, its resilience, its utility, its dependability, and the company! Thank you, Trackimo, for an incredible product and WONDERFUL peace of mind!!!

The first piece stopped working at all after 28 days while I only used it for 2 days literally , then stopped working or responding at all!! So I returned it and thought of giving another piece a try, which is foolish, this one is NOT REAL TIME AT ALL!!!! You keep trying to reload to locate the device, IT TAKES FOREVER LIKE 5-10 minutes untIl you completely lose the tracking path!!!!

Worst gps tracker compaired to some others. Sometimes not accurate at all just giving the street name without street number, and the worst that makes me wish to give ZERO star is the battery life. They should list on the description that the battery can last up to only 48 hours not like other gps trackers which could last upto 2 weeks and in fact they last for a week if tracking a lot. This battery last only for 1 day and tracking the percentage of the battery life is AWFUL, instead of going down in numbers by one or every 5% it decreases by 35% all of the sudden !! I wonder why other reviews don't mention this part!!!!!!!
If you want a good gps tracker that AVOID THIS ONE, BATTERY LIFE IS ONLY 1 DAY !!

This is the worst gps tracker by all means. Not accurate AT ALL!! The vehicle didn't move at all for 2 hours yet this tracker first gave me a location of the car, then it suddenly changes to a different address after staying still for an hour then goes back to the other address!! I have the other tracker from quick link and it's NEVER like this one.
PEOPLE DON'T BE EXCITED FOR GETTING THIS TRACKER FOR A FREE FULL YEAR OF PLAN AND THEN $5 A MONTH, IF U RARELY NEED IT THEN OK BUT IF IT'S TOO IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO USE THE TRACKER THEN FIND ANOTHER ONE AND OAY MORE EACH MONTH BECAUSE THIS TRACKIMO IS THE WORST GPS TRACKER!!

This is a good GPS tracker that works as described. The 12M in the description indicates you get 12 months of no additional charge coverage. It's a little quirky to get set up as the website doesn't respond very fast to the account setup process. My suggestion, be patient. Also, the IOS app doesn't take you to the location where you have the device. It starts in Israel, I think. So you either have to put in an address where the device is located or you can zoom out and move to your approximate location and then zoom in to the device marker. Overall, the tracker does an excellent job tracking and it works in real time. It's small and lightweight and the battery has lasted fine for my needs. I haven't yet set up any geo fences so can't speak to that option. I purchased one to use with my Phantom drone which will allow me to find it if it crashes and the drone battery dies before I can locate it.

Garmin's GTU-10 is no longer available since AT&T's shutting down their 2G network effective 1/1/2016. This device should not be affected by that shutdown.

5 stars for the quality of the device and it's accuracy, minus one star for the software.

UPDATE 12/29/14: The quirks are resolved and the software accurately locates the device. It uses GPS and the cell phone network. Five stars are deserved so I've upgraded the rating.

GSM (cell) kicks in when the GPS cannot be relied upon e.g. indoors - though accuracy suffers accordingly using GSM only. Battery life is around 2 days with 15 min pings. Call buttons appears to sends notifications reliably to multiple emails at once for free. Only 10 SMS messages included in the default bundle unless you want to pay more to upgrade. Note: you can't downgrade again unless you email Customer Service. Both the web and Android apps are poor in terms of interface and ease of use. I'm a computer scientist and it took me a while to learn figure out how the applications worked, The main use for this device is to offer a help line for a parent who sometimes falls and can't get up. So the SOS button with GPS relative accuracy was my primary purpose. It seems to do that. It is also small & light enough that it can be carried around on a lanyard.
