UPDATE: was contacted by company following this review last month. Battery was almost a year old, but company offered to replace. They provided a mailing label to return defective, and agreed to ship replacement. Received a phantom 3 battery, so they shipped another battery. Received the Phantom 4 replacement, and time will tell if battery lasts longer than the 1st one. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I purchased this battery about 10 months ago and have used it only about a dozen times. I went to place it into a Phantom 4 Pro last month and noticed the cracks at the face of the battery. As a professional photographer, I take great care of my drone batteries; they are stored in a soft case with the drones; they only come out to be inserted into a drone or placed on the battery charger. The battery still keeps a complete charge, but I can't take the risk of losing a $1,500 drone because of battery failure. I was hoping this would be a lower-cost alternative to OEM batteries, but I have DJI batteries that are still going strong after 3 years; this one developed these cracks after 8-9 months.

H ad purchased one of these batteries for my Phantom 4 and it worked great for a while. Then it began to swell on the sides of the battery until it would not fit into the drone. I emailed them and was very supprised the number one the emailed me back and number two they replaced my bad battery within 1 week. okay product but great customer service.

While I have had not problem with the battery power and charging them and they run fine when flying, I have come across a VERY MAJOR FLAW with these batteries that most likely ultimately end with the drone falling from the sky. I have found on occasions its tricky to have the battery click into place on the drone. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the points (see photo) have become mangled from adding and removing the battery from the drone. Ultimately that means there is a chance that the flow of power from the battery to the drone in mid-air might falter. Not worth the risk losing a $1500 drone with these batteries. I have 3 of these batteries and the problem exists on 2 of them. I have had 3 of the DJI phantom 4 batteries and this problem does not exist.

Do not buy. Worked great for about 35 flights then my drone just fell from the sky with no warning. It was about 50 feet off the ground and about 100 feet away. It was not hit by anything and I didn't run into anything it just fell like a rock and broke apart. Also by using a non dji battery you void dji warranty .

Ok I'm writing a new review and upgrading from a 1 star to a 4 star. The reasoning was because powerextra customer service was excellent they were in constant contact with me about the incident. They asked a few questions and tried to determine the issue however in was unable to provide them with the flight data and they offered to refund my money and pay for any claims that DJI wouldn't cover. When it was all said and done they refunded my money for the battery and a little extra for DJI claims. Since I was unable to send flight data the determining factor of the crash was never %100 decided. So in all I could have just had a faulty battery but the customer service will keep me coming back. Thank you.

I bough this battery for my new Phantom 4 Advanced, they have taken a firmware update and seem to be working just fine no issues with the battery at all. As others have said it would be nice if the LEDs were brighter, but that does not alter the performance of the battery at all. So far so good I'm happy!

I wanted to try a different battery. I did so with some hesitation and especially with a drone. Did not charge properly the first time. Power indicators were stuck on 2. Later the battery charged fully after trying it again. Used it for two flights in one day. Went to charge it that night and now it's completely dead. No indicator lights and no signs of life. Will be returning this and getting an OEM battery like I did for the first spare. Not going down this road again.

Update: I was contacted very quickly after this review and notified that they would be sending out a new battery immediately without having to return the defective one first. Not happy with the battery but very surprised by the quick response to honor their product. Stay tuned for more updates.

New replacement battery received today at no charge. Will be sending the first one back.

The replacement battery that was sent has worked fine for many months now.

Update 2:
The springs inside the battery case eventually started to crack through the plastic. I have this as a third battery and use it only when necessary. Placed it in the phantom and the batter fell out of the drone because the spring lock mechanism was broke. I can no longer recommend this battery. They replaced it the first time and now I have a bigger issue and even though my drone still flies, it is damaged.
Stay with OEM!
